HSBC Wealth Exchange
Coding + Design

At Canary Wharf, HSBC Wealth Exchange reframed one of finance’s most loaded words. Through a live, public installation, we invited people to redefine what wealth truly means to them and watched those values surface in real time.

Traditionally, wealth has been defined by numbers, assets, and financial performance. But today, people measure richness differently. Time with family, freedom, experiences, health, and meaning now sit alongside money. We wanted to capture that shift and make it visible.

The screen mimicked a stock exchange ticker, but instead of shares and indices, it displayed what people truly valued. Family time. Holidays. Stability. Purpose. Each entry reflected the collective input of every participant, turning personal priorities into a living, communal dataset.

We built a public installation that asked people to rank the five things they cared about most. Each response was translated into points and aggregated live, forming a constantly evolving picture of modern wealth. I designed and coded the system end to end, from logic to screen design, bringing data, emotion, and interaction together in a single experience.
